When it comes to back hair removal for men, there are two options: do it yourself, or get a little help. And because it’s generally a hard-to-get-to area, we’d recommend getting a little help. The ‘help’ option covers a range of possibilities, depending on how much you’d like to spend:
· Get your partner to help with clipping and shaving, or applying depilatory cream
· Go to a salon where you can have a sugar or wax hair removal done
· Have laser hair removal done
These options range from (almost) free to significantly costly, by quite a margin. That said, having someone who can see what’s going on is not a bad strategy.
Sometimes, though, you have to just go it alone, and with a bit of ingenuity and a good mirror, you can do a very good job of keeping the werewolf growth at bay if you have to. Regardless of the density and length of your back hair, you’ll need some equipment, and it’s worth taking a look at some of the handy products that will make your life easier.
First up: a good quality body hair clipper and razor. If you’re going to do your own clipping, there are handy extension grips which enable you to use your clipper on your back without any circus training. Before you start, though, have everything set up and ready, and always work on hair that’s been softened in the shower first – it’s easier to cut, and kinder on your clippers.
Because working in a mirror can be a bit disconcerting, divide your back into four quadrants and do a section at a time, carefully trimming with your clippers, and following up with your back razor. Using a good quality shaving gel can make things a little easier, and you’re less likely to nick yourself.
If you decide to go the route of a depilatory cream, make sure beforehand that you have an applicator that enables you reach all the areas you need to. Then, when you apply the cream, make sure you follow the instructions and allow the cream time to settle – if you don’t, you’ll have unsightly patches left and it’ll get really messy. Also make sure to rinse off all the cream thoroughly afterward to ensure you don’t irritate or even burn your skin. Very important: if you haven’t used depilatory cream before, always do a small test patch first to see how your skin reacts!
Back hair removal for men isn’t as daunting as you might think – but make sure you have the right tools for the job before you get started.
