The Best Beard Grooming Kits

Is it worth making use of a good beard maintenance kit? We think so, and here’s why.

Unlike the hair on your head, facial hair can very often seem like it has a mind of its own. Some parts grow more thickly and quickly than others. The hairs often seem to stubbornly stick out where you don’t want them to, and the untidy appearance that was all the rage back in the 1970s just doesn’t cut it in today’s world.

Quite simply, that means your beard requires a little extra attention. Hoping that you get away with an occasional wash and comb will probably not give you the results you dream about – but if you have a few key items at hand, it becomes that much easier to instil the habit of good, consistent beard care.

Just like a camping checklist, you want to make sure the essentials are all there, and so it makes sense to keep a little collection of items that are easily within reach and that can be used for maintenance and occasional touch-ups.

We’d recommend the following items as a bare minimum:

·        A good beard oil, mousse, or clay (or even better, all three).
·        A beard brush and beard comb to handle different lengths and areas.
·        A portable electric clipper or trimmer to sort out the jailbreakers.
·        A small hand mirror will help you through those quick-fix moments.
·        A small pair of grooming scissors comes in handy for fine detailing, too.

You can add to this, but if you have these lifesavers nearby, you’ll never have to worry about whether you have the best beard care kit or not – because you’ll be able to handle any eventuality.

The great thing about having an actual beard care kit is that it’s dual-purpose: you can keep it at hand as part of your morning grooming routine, and you can also take it with you to ensure that your hard-earned beard stays fresh and well-tended all day long.

Of course, a more comprehensive morning routine may mean that you need to include a few more items in your beard maintenance kit next to the basin – a clean razor and shaving foam, for example.

Be prepared, and kit up.
